From Web Pages to Inclusive Video: How Avatar Widgets Bring Accessibility, Clarity, and Reach to Public Services

Public-facing communication has never been harder. Audiences skim, language proficiency varies, and accessibility standards keep evolving. For municipal services, hospitals, and GGDs, the stakes are even higher: information must be understandable and usable by everyone, including citizens with low literacy, non-native speakers, and people who benefit from audio or visual support.
That’s why we built the Avatar Widget—delivered on our XS2C platform and powered together with our partner ReadSpeaker. The widget turns any page into an inclusive experience: it analyzes on-page text, summarizes it to an appropriate reading level, translates it into multiple languages, and renders everything as lifelike audio and a video avatar—directly on the page.

Why this matters for Communication Teams

  • Accessibility first: WCAG 2.2 AA-compliant, with clear audio and captions, so more citizens can access critical information—without extra PDFs or detours.
  • Clarity at a glance: Automatic summarization reduces cognitive load and makes complex policies approachable.
  • Multilingual by design: Serve diverse communities with 50+ languages and 200+ high-quality voices.
  • Lower production overhead: No manual video editing. Content updates on the page automatically flow into new audio+avatar outputs via XS2C pipelines.

How it works (under the hood)

  1. In-page analysis: The widget reads the current page.
  2. Summarize & simplify: XS2C pipelines standardize tone and reading level for public-service clarity.
  3. Translate & adapt: Content is translated into selected languages.
  4. Speak & show: ReadSpeaker provides natural-sounding TTS; the widget displays an on-brand video avatar per language, with captions.

Live in the public sector

This week, the Municipality of Eindhoven went live with the Avatar Widget on its “Meedoenbijdrage” information page, and nine other pages—an important step toward inclusive digital services. More deployments with GGD Amsterdam and GGD Noord- en Oost-Gelderland (NOG) will follow in the coming weeks.

Built on XS2C: automated AI pipelines for comms at scale

XS2C lets large communication teams build repeatable workflows—turn a policy article into an avatar video, a micro-podcast, social posts, and more. One source, many formats, governed and measurable.

Results you can expect

  • Higher comprehension for critical pages (benefits, health, procedures)
  • Broader reach across languages and literacy levels
  • Faster updates with less manual production
  • Compliance peace-of-mind with WCAG 2.2 AA baked in
If you’re responsible for public-facing content and want to make it clear, inclusive, and effortless to maintain, the Avatar Widget on XS2C might be the most leveraged change you can make this quarter.
